2025 in Review for Helen Olivia Flowers
Two things tell me 2025 was an epic year: I took a fraction of the photos I take in a normal year, and the photos I did take blow me away to look back on. It was a year that was so busy there wasn’t always time to stop to document along the way, and the projects and events we worked on were exciting, challenging, and beautiful.
January: Slowed down (finally) and took the month to organize the studio and enjoy a staff holiday party. Oh, and we tackled 15 inauguration events, yielding our busiest week in the history of Helen Olivia.
February: Made over 800 arrangements for Valentine’s Day.
March: Celebrated St. Patrick’s Day in style with an over-the-top bash at The Mellon Auditorium downtown.
April: Stayed local for a beautiful wedding at Woodlawn Pope-Leighey in Alexandria. The bouquet was all white peonies and my favorite of the year.
May: Constructed a 5’ tall heart—full of hundreds of roses—for a Bat Mitzvah gal.
June: One of the busiest months of the year. And, in a humorous twist, ran out of staff for a weekend wedding, so Chuck and I tackled an arch installation solo. 15 years in, and we still got it!
July: Slowed down, relaxed, and taught five workshops.
August: Designed a single tablescape for a DC planner with over 300 stems of dahlia. Divine!
September: Cue the big events! The highlight? A Dolce & Gabbana–themed dinner party on the water downtown.
October: Too many big events to count, but this elevated table garland for a fall bride and groom made the highlights reel.
November: We had the honor of providing flowers for the Portrait of a Nation Gala. One of our biggest—and most fabulous—events of the year.
December: Amidst a sea of reds and greens, this blue disco-themed holiday party was such a fun and whimsical event to produce.
Cheers to the adventure ahead in 2026, and to the incredible team that conquered 2025 with us.
