Winter Wanderlust: Our Favorite Destinations for a Wonderland Escape

Winter has a way of sparking wanderlust—whether you’re chasing snow-capped mountains, cozy fireside escapes, or a sunny reprieve from the cold. We asked our contributors to share their favorite winter destinations, and they delivered a mix of local getaways, international adventures, and hidden gems that make the season feel a little warmer. From ski slopes to tropical beaches, here’s where our community loves to go when winter calls.

Amy, Red Barn Mercantile, Pippin Toy Co., Penny Post: I don't travel during the winter, but if I did... I hear Iceland is lovely this time of year. Why not go all in on winter while it's here?!

Renée, Renée C. Gage Photography: Last year I loved heading to Boulder with one of our boys to see dear friends and ski! Adventure awaits!

Britt, The Patterson Group: Nemacolin Resort! Incredibly kid friendly with a great spa for mom.

Adrien, Adrien Cotton Wellness Expert: My favorite Winter destination is any flavor of Southern California from the tip at San Diego through the beauty of Orange County. Here I am in Oceanside, a newfound gem, soaking in 70 degree weather, long runs/walks accompanied by restful sleep with crashing waves in the background and fresh fish tacos.

Katelin, Family First Law Group: Deep Creek Lake, as a native from there I am a bit biased, this is both a summer and winter favorite for me! You can catch me on the slopes this winter!

Angelika, Eliana Curated: A quick flight to Clearwater Beach and you have palm trees, beaming sunshine, and long stretches of beachfront. Count me in all day, every day in the winter.

Sarah, Alexandria Stylebook: Park City, Utah has been a family-favorite for as long as I can remember. While it’s a classic destination in the winter, the summers are also phenomenal!

Celthia, Bellacara: I love visiting my family in Dubai every January for our annual reunion.

Rachel, Helen Olivia Flowers: It wouldn’t be winter without jumping on a plane and visiting my parents in South Florida. There is nothing better than a quick dose of 80 degree weather, golf, and palm trees.

Whether you’re embracing winter, or looking to escape to warmer weather, there’s no shortage of amazing destinations to choose from the make your winter wonderful.
