Boutique Bouquet: Snip and Shop Saturday, Sept. 21 in Old Town

My favorite events in Old Town are the Home and Garden tours. We are lucky enough to have three tours a year and they kick off this fall with The Twig Historic Alexandria Homes Tour, on Saturday, September 21.

I must confess I’m not a parade fan besides the Scottish Walk, but have always felt these events really showcase why Old Town is such a special place—more than anything else. This tour features beautiful homes and most people make a day of it, with lunch or brunch and then maybe some shopping. I can tell when customers stop in how much they are enjoying the day. It is mothers and daughters who make an annual event of it, groups of friends who meet in Old Town from around the DMV and even plenty of Alexandria residents. It’s just a happy, joyful day.

We have always wanted to get in on the fun and thank people for coming to our town for the day. We collaborated with some of the stores on what we like to call “The Square” which is Royal, Fairfax and Cameron to host a Snip and Shop. Ok, technically the stores are in more of a rectangle, but you get it.

Build a “Boutique Bouquet” by starting at Enchanted Florist (139 S Fairfax St.) to pick-up floral paper and a sticker then continue on to the seven other participating stores listed below. No purchase is necessary: just pop in and collect your stem and leave Old Town with a bundle of flowers. You don’t even have to have a ticket on the home tour to partake.

We hope you will come back and see us and the Boutique Bouquet will remind you of the fun day you had exploring Old Town homes and shops!
