Street Style: Shannon Kroeger
Shannon just seems to look good in everything. Maybe that is why she was an extra as a lawyer on a tv show. Really though, it’s her smile and confidence. It makes things look great on her. I am always so jealous of how much better she can pull off a suit than me, especially a pantsuit. Some days she might be in a beautiful, tailored dress, another day a luscious seafoam sweater dress that looks comfy and stylish. Sometimes we are going to a fun event after work, and she’s paired leather leggings with a sweater. I always like popping my head into her office and seeing what she is wearing in the morning.
We have spent long nights together in suits and heels, putting together binders in our conference room, and trying cases in courtrooms across northern Virginia. We have dawned cute golf outfits to go play in tournaments (it doesn’t matter that we weren’t great, if we looked good, right?). We gussied up for black tie events and danced until our feet could not take our heels for another second. Some days we accidentally wear similar things, or the exact same dress and “twinned” it. Thank goodness that has never happened on a court day.
Plain and simple, I wouldn’t be who I am today without Shannon Kroeger. She is smart as a whip and just has such a keen memory for details and case law. She is an excellent litigator but also gives good practical advice. She is my partner here at the Family First Law Group but has been much more than that. She has been my mentor, moral support, and one of my closest friends for over 13 years. She has helped guide me through my legal career from the time I was a baby lawyer and supported me as a woman in business, helping me learn how to make it run.
It is her confident and caring attitude that makes her excellent at everything she does – be it her legal practice, or volunteer work at church or in the community. Plus, everyone she meets wants to be friends with her. She is just pure fun. She spends her downtime with her husband, son, and daughter by the pool, out with friends, at Zumba, or making cocktails for her book club with herbs from her garden. There is a reason she is the last person to leave any party, everyone wants to hang with her!
