Krewe Sunglasses: Which Style Works Best for Your Face Shape?

We have been counting down the days to the upcoming Krewe trunk show at The Shoe Hive. The one thing people always struggle with – which style of sunglasses work best for their face shape. There is a method to the madness, although I will say some of the rules can always be broken. If you like a cat eye and it isn’t listed as the shape for you, buy the cat eye; it’s what you want.

Krewe does a great job of breaking down different shapes for different faces. We wanted to share their expertise to maybe help edit your selection. Of course, we always think the best way to decide which pair to purchase is to try them on. I can say with confidence that if you come in, we’ll give you an honest opinion. When I put on a pair, all I have to do is see someone’s face and it tells me whether or not to keep looking. Especially when it’s Shannon, our resident sunglasses maven. I know right away just by looking at her what works—and what does not work for me.

Color matters as well; I do better with a brown or tan pair. I think with my very blonde hair a black frame or darker frames can be too harsh. That’s why I love Krewe: they have so many different colors and patterns.

Check out this guide for shapes that work best on your face, but come in and try on as many pairs as you like as well!

Kick off summer at The Shoe Hive at 127 S. Fairfax Street. All Krewe frames will be 20 percent off, and we can place special orders. We will also have a rep from Krewe with us on Friday, June 14.

Owner | The Hive and The Shoe Hive

I spent the first part of my career as a copywriter who helped elected officials brag about their support for entrepreneurs. Then I decided to get off the printed page and do it myself. The Shoe Hive made a splash on the fashion scene in Washington, and was named the region’s best shoe store in its first year. Fourteen years later, I have tripled the store’s size and also opened a sister store, The Hive.  At The Hive, we offer clothing lines that are sophisticated and approachable like Rag & Bone, Tibi, Raquel Allegra, Ulla Johnson and Veronica Beard. We have tried to fill our racks with clothing you will want to wear all the time, elevated basics that are worth the investment.
