The Shoe Hive Party: What's In Store

I know sometimes I can be confusing. Most of my friends and colleagues would say the emails I send are typically illogical. I don’t sleep well, so many times I wake up in the middle of the night or early morning hours and work. This leads to even more random and unclear email communication, typically emailed at a rapid pace. So, I know that maybe some folks (okay, even people that are part of The Hive and Shoe Hive team) are confused about what we are actually doing for our Sweet Sixteen Weekend to mark our 16th year in business. I decided maybe I needed to break it down for everyone.

  • 1. Starting Thursday, October 17 - Sunday, October 20th everything at both stores is 16 percent off.

  • 2. Thursday night starting at 5pm we are throwing a party until 8pm. There will be prizes, gifts with purchase, and treats from Stomping Ground of course.

  • 3. Thursday from 5pm - 8pm one of my favorites, Hart Haggerty herself, will be at the party. She is bringing her fall collection and will be making custom charm necklaces.

  • 4. As a thank you for everyone being so great to us for 16 years, we will have Laura Hooper at the store Thursday from 6pm - 8pm to make calligraphy pumpkins. Don’t worry, we will have lots of mini pumpkins on hand for you to pick from and take home with you.

  • 5. Saturday from 11am - 2pm we are going to have an airbrush artist on hand to make custom canvas bags. You can also bring your own items like t-shirts to use as well. You might be wondering why in the world would I do this? Well when I was 16 years old, I always went to theme parks like Kings Island and Cedar Point to ride rollercoasters. I always left with an airbrush shirt, typically that matched my friends. I just thought: wouldn’t it be fun to bring back a little 1980s amusement park fun to Alexandria?!
