The Spring Lookbook, Part 2

As the deliveries continue to pile up in our basement, we have started to realize that the clothes are becoming more spring-like – beyond what we would call the “resort” or the “transition” delivery.

These days, it’s not as much of blacks and neutrals, but instead it’s lots of bright blues, pinks, and greens. And of course, nothing says it’s time to get ready for spring more than florals. We have great options from Ann Mashburn, Apiece Apart, Hunter Bell, and Hannah Artwear. Not to mention the skirt and shirt set from Joseph that I had to order for myself.

Another common item in this delivery, and one of my personal favorite items of all time: the pantsuit. I think we can thank Harry Styles and Brad Pitt for causing a stir on the red carpet in their colorful pantsuits. The designers obviously took note. We have a vest suit from Ulla Johnson in yellow, a pantsuit from ALC in coral, plus a teal blue one from Tibi.

Our first swimwear shipment of the season will arrive this month and include pieces from Ulla Johnson and Mikoh. Last year was our first-time carrying swim and it was such a hit that we decided to bring it back. So, if you are lucky enough to have a warm-weather trip in your future, we have some great options coming soon that will include cover-ups as well.

Folks always ask what I am picking for the season, so here’s what’s in my shopping basket: lots of Tibi, of course. I am excited about the mint green set and the purple dress, which usually are not my normal color choices. I haven’t decided which Xirena to get but I can never resist their easy dresses and shirts for warmer temperatures.

Come check out our newest arrivals. If you have gift cards from our holiday promotion you only have until the end of February to use them so stop in soon.

Owner | The Hive and The Shoe Hive

I spent the first part of my career as a copywriter who helped elected officials brag about their support for entrepreneurs. Then I decided to get off the printed page and do it myself. The Shoe Hive made a splash on the fashion scene in Washington, and was named the region’s best shoe store in its first year. Fourteen years later, I have tripled the store’s size and also opened a sister store, The Hive.  At The Hive, we offer clothing lines that are sophisticated and approachable like Rag & Bone, Tibi, Raquel Allegra, Ulla Johnson and Veronica Beard. We have tried to fill our racks with clothing you will want to wear all the time, elevated basics that are worth the investment.
