Think Outside The Kitchen And Bath! 4 Areas To Renovate Now

Kitchen and bathrooms are often the go-to spaces when it comes to renovating your home. It makes sense - that's where we spend the most time. But if the pandemic has taught us anything, it is the value of utilizing every inch of your home and optimizing your space. So, let's dream big and get creative.

Here are some of our favorite spaces where our homeowners thought outside of the traditional kitchen and bath:

Home Office

Having an organized and inspiring home office has skyrocketed to the top of the priority list for most of our homeowners. For those who are working from home, it is important to have a space where you can focus on what you need to accomplish away from your countless household distractions. This space can be an old office that you update, a spare bedroom, or even just an unused corner of your house. Storage and style should be key to your new home office space. Our in-house design team and custom cabinetry line from Braemar Cabinetry can help you design the perfect space to conquer your day.

Gyms/Recreation Spaces

Sneaking away to the gym can be hard… and time-consuming but imagine if your Peloton and dumbells had their own place in your home. Or better yet, imagine if your family had an entire recreation area to get all of their energy out without ever leaving the premises. Whether it's going all-out with a full-size basketball court (complete with its own water fountains and full bath) or a full-functioning gym area, having a place to work out without leaving home is a definite plus!

Bar/Lounge

The at-home bar is no longer just a mini-fridge tucked away in the basement. We are seeing homeowners really get into these spaces, creating full-service bars perfect for movie night with the family, themed areas paying homage to their favorite bars (or pubs in this homeowner's case), and even full rooms that give you that Mad Men vibe!

Exterior Spaces

It may be hard to focus on creating an exterior space when it is literally below freezing outside, but it is time to use your imagination. Let's pretend it is a beautiful spring morning, the birds are chirping, and the sun has just hit its peak after a slow rise over the horizon. You are holding a warm cup of coffee and sitting outside in your new screened-in porch, sunroom, or patio. You fill in the blank! Now is the time to get started.
