The 2022 Warehouse Sale Is Back, And Walkable!
The first weekend in February is always a big one in Alexandria. It has become a tradition that on that weekend, our town has the Alexandria Warehouse Sale. The event is 17 years old now, and it is crazy to see how it has grown over the years, from the Campagna Center to the George Washington Masonic Temple to what ended up being the perfect spot, the Westin Hotel ballrooms. Covid, of course, derailed the sale in 2021 and has again in 2022. But we didn’t let it stop us last year, and we aren’t letting it stop us this year either. Instead, we are having the second Walkable Warehouse Sale in Alexandria, Virginia.
Last year it was a hit, and we hope we have a great turnout this year as well. There are more than 60 stores participating - click here to see the list of participants and follow @alxwarehousesale on Instagram to see some of the great deals you can find. Of course, every year, we have to add something new, so this year at ALX Community Waterfront Space, located at 201 North Union Street, you will find over 25 local makers with great finds like jewelry, pet products, paintings, and more.
If you are out walking around, just look for the event balloons from Kristen Jones Real Estate to figure out what businesses are participating.
The sale goes on Saturday and Sunday, and there is free parking at city lots and on the streets. Take advantage of this - when do we ever get two days of free parking?
So that is what is going across town, but here is some more information on our stores in specific. We will start our Warehouse Sales on Friday, February 4 - we wanted to get a little jump start. We also will open at 9 am on Saturday at both The Shoe Hive and The Hive, just in case you are an early farmer’s market shopper and want to stop in.
Since Yellow Jacket will be finishing up renovations, we moved all the sale items to the back of The Hive.
Items are marked 60 to 80 percent off. It really is the best deal of the year. So, shop early, and you can shop the sale online starting Monday, February 7.
