Too Hot for Boots? Not Too Early to Save

Every day, a large dolly loaded with boxes makes its way through the entrance of 315 Cameron Street. Every day. It feels like all we’ve been doing this month is marking down sale items and unpacking new ones—trying to make room for all the fall arrivals.

The problem is, when it’s 100 degrees outside, it’s hard to imagine buying boots and blazers. It’s almost impossible to picture when you’ll actually wear them.

So, we decided to help everyone shift into a cooler-weather mindset with a shoe and boot sale.

Since combining our stores into one space, we’ve been adjusting what we carry to better fit our customers. One thing we’ve learned: if clients love a clothing brand, chances are they’ll love the shoes from that brand, too. That’s why you’re now seeing more shoes from Ann Mashburn, Rachel Comey, and Tibi. These are some of our top ready-to-wear lines, so it makes sense their footwear is just as good. (Honestly, writing this is reminding me I need to revisit Veronica Beard shoes again, too.)

Of course, we still carry styles from AGL, the only line that remains from our original space at 115 Royal, which opened in 2003. And we have tons of great sneakers from Back 70 and Autry.

Starting Thursday, August 14 through Sunday, August 17, all shoes and boots will be 20% off at The Shoe Hive/The Hive. If you’re on vacation (like it seems most people are this time of year), you can always shop online. Stop in and see us—Annette will be here for the first day of the sale!

Owner | The Shoe Hive/The Hive

I spent the first part of my career as a copywriter who helped elected officials brag about their support for entrepreneurs. Then I decided to get off the printed page and do it myself. The Shoe Hive made a splash on the fashion scene in Washington, and was named the region’s best shoe store in its first year. Fourteen years later, I have tripled the store’s size and also opened a sister store, The Hive.  At The Hive, we offer clothing lines that are sophisticated and approachable like Rag & Bone, Tibi, Raquel Allegra, Ulla Johnson and Veronica Beard. We have tried to fill our racks with clothing you will want to wear all the time, elevated basics that are worth the investment.
