Our Top Picks for the Week of March 23, 2020

Between social-distancing and working from home, we know that this time can bring on feelings of anxiety, boredom, and frustration. One of the best ways to digitally escape is through storytelling. Make sure to check out the top podcast and website recommendations from Angela, Tamara, Celeste, Elizabeth, and Amy to stay busy while you're staying in.  Elizabeth: I have mentioned this podcast before, but I can’t say enough good things about it, What We Wore with Laura Vinroot Poole, the owner of Capitol in Charlotte, North Carolina. She is my retail idol and this is rare, I have never heard a vendor or anyone say anything but glowing things about her. Her voice is soothing like a cup of hot tea with honey, or maybe these days a glass of bourbon. If you love a good story told with fashion as the backdrop, this is your podcast. (Available for streaming at What We Wore)Angela: I'd like to read the paper every day, but the reality is I don't. Skimm This keeps me informed on the most important stories of the day in a quick 10-minute digestible format. Looking smart in front of my kids...priceless. (Available for streaming at The Skimm)Tamara: Now is the perfect time to read that book that has been collecting dust, to learn how to sew, or to learn a new skill entirely. One of the best and most efficient ways to learn a new craft is through Skillshare. Unlock a passion, side hustle, or new professional skill with thousands of classes in design, business, and more. P.S. Like Angela, I also love The Skimm! (Courses available at Skillshare)Amy: When you own a business you tend to listen to a lot of business podcasts. The Tim Ferriss Show is a nice balance between useful business information and life hacks. Check out the episode with Brene Brown and the one with Neil Gaiman. So good. (Available for streaming at Tim Ferriss Show)Celeste: One of my new favorite podcasts is True Crime Garage. I discovered it while driving to Nashville in January. It is very interesting to hear them dissect cases. There was a seven-part series on JonBenet Ramsey that I found really riveting. (Available for streaming at True Crime Garage)
