Tulusa Trunk Show this Arts Festival Weekend

The Alexandria King Street Arts Festival is kind of our town’s official farewell to summer, or kick off to fall, depending on how you want to look at it. Labor Day has passed, the kids are all finally back in school, and it is time to think about packing up our sandals and sarongs and pulling out sweaters. The festival brings a different crowd to Old Town, including some out-of-town guests who might never have seen our store, so I got to thinking and decided it’d be great to feature one of Alexandria’s talented local artists at one of our stores for the festival weekend...especially one who makes great textiles that are not just for your home but for your wardrobe.Well, luckily for all of us, Sue Henry of the brand Tulusa does exactly that. A resident of Del Ray, Sue makes the most beautiful pillows, napkins, table runners, clutches, and even denim jackets that feature original block print and embellishment. Her embroidered snake clutch is my personal favorite...or maybe it is the birds. Each piece has such attention to detail, vibrant colors, and one-of-a-kind designs, it is really difficult to pick.We are kicking off the festival trunk show with a cocktail hour at The Hive with Sue this Friday, September 14th from 5-8pm.So stop in for a drink on Friday or, if you are around for the arts festival over the weekend, come see Sue in the store Saturday from noon-3pm. Don’t worry, all her great pieces will be there the entire weekend! If you stop in, make sure you register for our giveaway.
