We Need Your Help
It is hard to believe that we will have been in business for 19 years this fall. When I opened in 2003, I had just turned 30. Back then, I don’t know if I would have believed it if someone had told me that I would still be in retail when I turned 50, which happens next June.
We have come a long way since we started with 500 square feet on South Royal Street. Never would I have thought we would have 4,000 total square feet of retail space, and I definitely wouldn’t have thought we would have a men’s store. (The jury is still out if we should - so come in and check it out and help me answer that question!)
With all the change and growth, we have always had the same goal: to help Alexandrians have a place to shop where they feel welcome and comfortable. I always say we want to be the “Cheers” of retail. Friendly faces when you come in, and instead of a beer, maybe you find a great shirt or shoes, but you leave with a smile on your face. Or maybe you don’t even find anything, but you come back next time you need something because it was a positive experience.
I feel like we do a pretty good job of staying on top of the trends. I mean, we carry some of the best brands in the industry. But like I said, my number one priority is always to make our customers feel welcome. But I also want you to shop at the stores when you need just the right something. Whether it’s a graduation outfit or flip-flops for a beach vacation, I hope you come to us knowing you’ll find just what you want. So with that in mind, I felt like as we get ready to celebrate the 19-year mark this fall, it is a good time to survey our customers again. We really use the data; a survey we took about seven years ago was instrumental in our decision to open The Hive as a separate clothing location. We need and value your help.
So, I am officially asking you to take a survey. I know, I know. We all get tons of these in our inboxes daily. But, you know me. I love a challenge. So, for your time, we will email you a coupon for 20 percent off your entire purchase of full-price items.
Here is how it works. Between now and July 31, complete the survey, and we will email you a coupon. You can use the discount to shop one time online or in-store. That’s the key - the coupon is only good for one day of shopping. So you can hit up one store or all three, it is up to you, but it has to be the same day. If you don’t have time to come shop, you can shop online.
Unlike a lot of retailers, we do not constantly survey you, and I hope you aren’t too numb to the others to fill this one out. I know we chat with you all individually in the store, but I wanted to do something a little bit more official. One thing is for sure: we wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for the support of our amazing community of customers and friends.
