Welcome Home: Trice Alley

In my 18 years of business, I have made some really good decisions and some really, really bad ones. It is all part of the process. One of the best business decisions I ever made was to buy the building that The Shoe Hive is occupying at the current moment. I say current moment because I like to wake up in the middle of the night and decide to move things - so who knows what the future holds.

After we settled into the location at 127 South Fairfax Street 12 years ago, I decided to gut the upstairs and turn it into an apartment. It has been great, and I think few apartment owners can say they have had only four tenants in 12 years. I have been extremely lucky and made great friends in the process.

When my friend moved out this past summer, I decided to change things up and turn it into an Airbnb or VRBO or whatever you want to call it. I, of course, had no idea how to go about doing this, and as luck would have it, a friend of mine had just done the same thing and introduced me to Jennie of Poshabodes.

Thanks to Jennie and her team, she turned my apartment into a luxury rental where anyone would want to stay. They literally think of everything. The kitchen is better stocked than my house’s, and for sure the linens are nicer. Most times, when I stop in, I think about how I want to move in or at least stay for a weekend. I mean, I don’t have to tell my kids I am just up the street, do I?

If your house is too small for guests (or maybe you just want them to have their own space) or if you know someone who is coming to town who needs a place to stay, you should check out the Trice Alley Flat - or any of the Poshabode properties in Old Town. And don’t just think of guests. Maybe you are renovating, and you need a spot to stay for a bit. Whatever it is, they have three great properties in Old Town that are sure to accommodate anything you need. It is simple to book - just click on the site to see all the options.
