This new line is the final piece in our trinity of shoe brands we are introducing to The Shoe Hive this fall. I initially added Emme Parsons and Dear Frances and wanted to make sure we also added a line that wasn’t as expensive.
I am not sure how I discovered ViBi Venezia. I assume it was at another store or on someone I follow on Instagram. I was drawn to their simplicity. When I found their website, I loved that they really do what they are good at: slip-on flats that are timeless.
The more I researched, the more I learned that it is owned by two sisters who were born and raised in Venice. They grew up wearing the furlana, a quintessential Venetian slipper that was worn by gondoliers. When they traveled, their friends were always asking them to bring a pair with them. The sisters decided to create a brand that would bring this Venetian tradition of shoes to the world.
ViBi Venezia represents Italian excellence. The shoemakers handmake our furlana with the knowledge they have inherited from their fathers. Even the fabrics, from the classic velvets to the more unusual and extraordinary textiles, are always the result of high-quality Italian craftsmanship.
We are starting with the shoe that started the brand, the Furlana. We have four different colors coming in. Then I just couldn’t pass up getting one pair of the slip-on sneaker and, of course, a loafer.
I am so excited about this brand. I figure we can’t go wrong with something made in Italy that is a timeless classic.
