Staff Picks: Ulla Johnson Spring Trunk Show at The Hive
Once again, I thought it would be fun to see what everyone at The Hive was looking to purchase from the Ulla Johnson spring collection and trunk show. I always ask my sales representatives, “What is on your personal order?” As a result, I’m sure our clients would like to know what was on ours.
We all know I’m a Tibi girl; it is always my biggest order each season. This spring, however, Ulla Johnson was a close second. I went a little wild, and I’m not totally certain where I’ll be wearing all of these items. I just had to have three of the sets — and I’m not talking casual sweat sets! So, if anyone is hosting a party this spring or summer, please invite me — I have outfits to wear and nowhere to go! I picked the sequins set in Noontide, the silk top and matching wide-leg pants in Moontide, and last but not least, the Inez pencil skirt with matching top. I may have gone overboard — and I think you will agree!
It really was the fabrics that got me this season. There was nothing else in any other showroom like what Ulla had created this spring. Custom fabrics were designed in collaboration with the foundation of American painter Helen Frankenthaler. The designers turned her beautiful landscapes and paintings into breathtaking fabrics.
I always have my husband proof my posts on Stylebook, but I think it might be a bad idea this time given the admittedly outrageous size of my order! He will just see dollar signs, not grammar mistakes.
I had everyone else on our team select their favorites as well. I thought the ladies would pick the sequins set, but only Shelia wanted to sparkle with me this spring. Shelia actually picked the top from one of the sets I ordered and the bottoms from another. Angelica and Juliet both picked the most beautiful coral dress — quintessential Ulla Johnson. Angelica also chose one of my personal favorites that I’m hoping looks good on me when I try it on: the Cove Top with embroidery. It’s one of the best buy-now-wear-now pieces from the event.
Melissa’s two picks are so perfect for her: the denim skirt and the Patrizia sleeveless knit top, which is a bit more fitted and would be great under blazers or jackets as well.
Shannon joined me on one of my sets — the Inez satin pencil skirt and matching top. Madeline, I will say, surprised me, but she always does. She picked the Samar short-sleeve silk dress, which is another pattern based on a painting. We have a jersey top in the same pattern, which I know will be popular.
Ellen picked the most gorgeous gown. Since she is newly engaged, maybe she’ll have an event where she can wear her special order — even if I don’t. She also picked a stunning Ulla sundress — and nobody does a sundress better than Ulla Johnson.
The best part? You can have these picks and more at our Ulla Johnson Spring Trunk Show running from March 12-March 15th at The Hive.
