The 12 Days of Christmas Are Back and Better Than Ever

It’s been over a decade since we launched our annual 12 Days of Christmas promotion. In those early years, we really went all in. We’d hit the gift show in August and plan every detail months in advance. One year, we even filmed each day’s giveaway with a full studio setup—a rented sleigh, fake snow tossed on me from a ladder just out of frame, and a dramatic snap of the fingers to reveal each deal.

After a while, we stepped away from all that rigamarole, and from the promotion itself. Every retailer seemed to be doing their own version, and honestly, we got a little lazy. But I missed it. It was fun, joyful, and one of my favorite ways to kick off the holiday season.

So this year, it’s back. Even though we don’t have quite as much space—or quite as many gifts—as we used to in our South Fairfax Street location, we’ve still curated a thoughtful selection with great options at a variety of price points.

We’re kicking off the 12 Days of Christmas on December 2, since Cyber Monday falls on December 1. Keep an eye on your email and Instagram each morning for that day’s special deal. Some items will be limited in quantity, and all offers will be in-store only. We’ll do our best to accommodate Instagram messages and phone calls when possible.

We hope this brings a little extra holiday excitement your way—and helps you cross a few people off your shopping list in the process.

Owner | The Shoe Hive/The Hive

I spent the first part of my career as a copywriter who helped elected officials brag about their support for entrepreneurs. Then I decided to get off the printed page and do it myself. The Shoe Hive made a splash on the fashion scene in Washington, and was named the region’s best shoe store in its first year. Fourteen years later, I have tripled the store’s size and also opened a sister store, The Hive.  At The Hive, we offer clothing lines that are sophisticated and approachable like Rag & Bone, Tibi, Raquel Allegra, Ulla Johnson and Veronica Beard. We have tried to fill our racks with clothing you will want to wear all the time, elevated basics that are worth the investment.
