The Lizzie Fortunato Lookbook & Trunk Show at The Hive

Attached you will find possibly the largest lookbook for an event we have ever compiled. Lizzie Fortunato sent us a huge consignment order for our trunk show this weekend, and we are so excited.

If you haven’t heard, we are hosting a Lizzie Fortunato and Ann Mashburn trunk show starting Thursday, April 30, through Sunday, May 3. On May 1, the Fortunato sisters will be in the store from 10 am to 2:30 pm. Lizzie and Kathryn will be here to answer all your questions about how to build a “neckmess” and what the inspiration was for their Spring 2026 collection.

If you don’t know about the Fortunato duo, they are twin sisters who moved to NYC after they graduated from Duke. Lizzie launched her line in 2008 from her apartment. On their 24th birthday, Kathryn gave Lizzie her bonus check from her job at Goldman Sachs with a note that said “follow your dreams.” It is the only funding the company ever received. Two years later, Kathryn joined the company full time, and now they have a 14-person team in NYC. If you ever get a chance to visit their offices, which they do open up to visitors, you will actually see most of the pieces being made by hand.

I was trying to decide on my favorite pieces from this collection, and it wasn’t easy. I am always a fan of the bracelets, and you have to layer them, of course. I prefer a stack of three in different sizes. As far as earrings go, I am a fan of the comet earring. It is a great everyday option. When it comes to necklaces, I own a few of the Laguna, but this season I want to add the Lido necklace for summer.

You can see the Lizzie Fortunato lookbook with all the great pieces they are sending, but there is even more. They sent us a huge collection of fine jewelry as well. One of the fine jewelry options I am most excited about is the charm necklaces. You pick a necklace that is either beaded or a gold chain and then select your charms. If you have a graduate or need a Mother’s Day gift, this is a great option, and every year you can add to it.

The best part is that all Lizzie Fortunato and Ann Mashburn pieces are 20 percent off. We will also have Cafe Flores in the store Friday from 10 am to 1 pm with her custom lattes. You won’t want to miss out.

Owner | The Shoe Hive/The Hive

I spent the first part of my career as a copywriter who helped elected officials brag about their support for entrepreneurs. Then I decided to get off the printed page and do it myself. The Shoe Hive made a splash on the fashion scene in Washington, and was named the region’s best shoe store in its first year. Fourteen years later, I have tripled the store’s size and also opened a sister store, The Hive.  At The Hive, we offer clothing lines that are sophisticated and approachable like Rag & Bone, Tibi, Raquel Allegra, Ulla Johnson and Veronica Beard. We have tried to fill our racks with clothing you will want to wear all the time, elevated basics that are worth the investment.
