Tibi Events & Lookbook at The Hive
Last week we announced that Amy Smilovic, the Founder and Creative Director of Tibi, will be coming to our store for not just one event, but two. On Wednesday evening, we'll host a Book Club discussion of Almost Reckless with Amy from 6:00–8:00 p.m. You can sign up here.
The following day, Amy and Christine will be in the store for styling appointments, along with our team. The store will be stocked with new arrivals, fundamentals, and a selection of pieces Tibi is sending just for the event. It's a great opportunity for me to bring in pieces I wanted to order but just couldn't fit into our regular assortment.
A great example is the Nylon Snap Bomber in Red. I loved it but wasn't sure everyone else would feel the same way. We also had other bombers, so I thought we had the category covered—but none of the others are as good as this red one. I also personally ordered the Red Leather Midi Trouser Skirt but didn't bring it into the store. Once again, I wondered if everyone shared my love of leather. I really hope they do. I've also never met a trouser skirt I didn't love.
Another piece I hesitated on was the Herringbone Suiting Trouser Short and the Men's Easy Blazer in the same fabric. Once I saw them on Style Class, I knew I had made a mistake. My sister—always the "no-no bird," as I call her—only allowed me to order one pair of shorts for fall, and I had gone with the Featherweight Viscose Neoprene Relaxed Short along with two coordinating tops, so these didn't make the cut.
As you can see, I can't always order everything I want. I pretty much wish we carried the entire line.
