3 Steps to Take You From Gym to Street

Whether you are a stay-at-home mom, a full-time working professional, or fall somewhere in between, the juggle is real. While everyone's to-do list varies, our commonality lies in the fact we are all given the same number of hours in the day in which to attempt to get it all done.As a mom of three, I am constantly on the go. On any given day, I am trying to squeeze in exercise along with coffee or lunch with a friend, run errands, finish up a Stylebook post, attend a meeting at the school or church, go to an appointment, and shuffle the bigs to and from their various after school activities. Maybe it is the Mississippi in me, where it is commonly understood women should never leave home without their "face" on, but I never want to give anyone reason to say, "Well, bless her heart," after encountering me.The 2:30 PM pick up time from school rolls around awfully fast, so to make the most use of my time, I have several favorite go-to fashion hacks that help me transition throughout the day. 1.)  Hair Accessories:  Headbands are not just for those with long, flowing hair. They work with any hairstyle and length and most definitely beat wearing a baseball cap. I have short hair, and the headband is essentially the short hair girl's ponytail holder or dry shampoo. I have been wearing them long before Lele Sadoughi ever placed a knot on top. I often pop a headband on first thing in the morning to mask my bed head or don post-workout to give my limp hair a little oomph. Lele Sadoughi is the leader in the game and the trendsetter others in the market are trying to replicate. They truly are superior.Sneaking in a workout during lunch and need to return to the office looking polished? Elevate your ponytail with a silk scrunchie or headscarf by Donni. 2.)  Earrings:  I like them big. The bigger and more bold they are, the better in my opinion…unless I am wearing them to work out or go to the pool. Yes, I even wear earrings at the beach! From Lizzie Fortunato, Alexis Bittar and Mignonne Gavigan to Lele Sadoughi and Hart, we boast so many great earrings at The Hive and The Shoe Hive to choose from. Did you know you can also shop our collection online? We will gladly ship right to you! 3.)  Sunglasses:  Run out of time to put on makeup or better yet, you landed a coveted appointment with Sarah Akram at Sarah Akram Skincare and would not dare put a thing on your face following your service? Throw on a pair of sunglasses, apply some lip gloss and go. I have suffered from a slight addiction to Krewe sunglasses since my sister-in-law started working for the Krewe mothership in New Orleans several years ago. They are truly like little works of art on your face, and I was so thrilled when Elizabeth brought them to The Shoe Hive.Throw a Wilt t-shirt or Sundry sweatshirt on over your workout clothes, add some or all of my top three accessories, and voila! You are suddenly ready to go straight from the Pilates studio to your parent-teacher conference or lunch date with a friend and will certainly give them all reason to say, "She always looks so well put together."Happy juggling!
