Personalized Leather Gifts For A Grad Or Dad

Graduation gifts for guys are hard. Or maybe I am the only one who thinks so, but I struggle. I also struggle with Father’s Day. Even though my dad and husband have never met a quarter zip they didn’t like, once in a while I want to find something different.

Well, I have to tell you, I have found the perfect gift. It isn’t even one thing. It is an entire brand that makes personalized leather goods, Clayton & Crume. I have gifted a few sets of Rocks Glasses and Flasks and they were a huge hit. But there is more than just drinkware. (For the record, my friend Tricia said I am not allowed to give a flask as a graduation gift, but I might still do it.) There are journals, sunglass straps, key chains, coasters, desk pads, iPhone cases, koozies, and watch straps. But since I can’t do the flasks for high school grads (perfect for college grads, though) my go-to gift is going to be the Kentucky belt.

It is the coolest gift and I know it will last forever. This handmade stitched leather belt can be ordered in different sizes and colors, the buckle is solid brass and then there is a nameplate that can hold up to 18 characters. Perfect for a nickname or initials.

I will admit I was drawn to the brand initially because it is all made in Kentucky. My mom was born and raised in the Bluegrass state, so I have a soft spot for all things Kentucky (except Bourbon). But after a year of carrying the line, I have been so impressed with the quality.

We are hosting our first Clayton and Crume event starting this Thursday, June 2 through Sunday, June 5. Get all your dads and grads taken care of and receive 20 percent off your order!

Owner | The Hive, The Shoe Hive, and Yellow Jacket

I spent the first part of my career as a copywriter who helped elected officials brag about their support for entrepreneurs. Then I decided to get off the printed page and do it myself. The Shoe Hive made a splash on the fashion scene in Washington, and was named the region’s best shoe store in its first year. Fourteen years later, I have tripled the store’s size and also opened a sister store, The Hive.  At The Hive, we offer clothing lines that are sophisticated and approachable like Rag & Bone, Tibi, Raquel Allegra, Ulla Johnson and Veronica Beard. We have tried to fill our racks with clothing you will want to wear all the time, elevated basics that are worth the investment.
