My husband is from East Tennessee, and he always has great sayings that paint a picture of the point he is trying to make. One of my favorites (at least one of my favorites that is appropriate to print on a family blog) is "we are getting down to the lick log." If you don't speak country, I will spare you the explanation of "lick long" and just give you the translation. It means: we are at the end.
Well, when it comes to the Courtyard Clearance, we are down to the lick log. This is it, the last weekend and the last markdowns before Tax Free weekend and Sidewalk Sale. I guess you could call it the gambler's sale. You knew this day of rock-bottom prices was coming, but you had to take a gamble that what you wanted in our inventory would still be here.
