The Wish List: Make Holiday Shopping Easier For Them

There really was not much shopping time between Thanksgiving and Christmas this year. It was almost the latest Thanksgiving could possibly be. This has made it even crazier for retailers this year – especially for smaller retailers. I can’t say that it snuck up on us; we know when Christmas is every year. But with a small staff and no marketing agency outside to help, we were still caught a little off guard. As we were prepping for Plaid Friday and Small Business Saturday it occurred to us all that we hadn’t even thought about Men’s Night at The Hive.

We were hesitant to reimagine it without the beautiful courtyard on South Fairfax Street, but we love our Men’s Night too much to quit. We decided to forge ahead and we are hosting Men’s Night this Thursday, December 12 from 5 to 8pm.

One key part of this annual event is making sure the men know what to get when they arrive. This is where the Stylebook readers come in. This isn’t just for Men’s Night – this is for the entire holiday shopping season. Come in and fill out a Wish List and we will do the rest. You let us know the best person to contact who might be shopping for you and we take it from there.

If you can’t come in we can always help over the phone. We are here to help. With only a few weeks left to shop for the holidays we want to help check one thing off of your list!

Owner | The Hive and The Shoe Hive

I spent the first part of my career as a copywriter who helped elected officials brag about their support for entrepreneurs. Then I decided to get off the printed page and do it myself. The Shoe Hive made a splash on the fashion scene in Washington, and was named the region’s best shoe store in its first year. Fourteen years later, I have tripled the store’s size and also opened a sister store, The Hive.  At The Hive, we offer clothing lines that are sophisticated and approachable like Rag & Bone, Tibi, Raquel Allegra, Ulla Johnson and Veronica Beard. We have tried to fill our racks with clothing you will want to wear all the time, elevated basics that are worth the investment.
