A sofa is one of the most important and expensive purchases you will make for your home. It’s at the center of your home’s activities and entertainment.

It’s always good to start with your budget as it serves as a guide to fabric selection, cushion composition, 8-way hand tied quality frames, etc. A less expensive sofa might seem like a good idea, but they tend to have a shelf life of about seven years. A higher quality sofa could last you around 30 years. 

Accurate measurements are an integral part of the process when selecting a sofa. Sofas tend to be the largest piece in the room, and an accurate floor plan is required. Many clients ask for our help after they purchase a sofa themselves. They want us to help make the sofa “fit” –  if it’s too large or too small it will most likely not work in the space.

Size is important depending on how many family members there are as well as how you entertain. A sofa should be a minimum of 84” if three people are going to use it. We always recommend a bench cushion.
