Getting to the Bottom of It: Shannon
Today’s purse spill is an extra fun one for me for two reasons: it’s the person with whom I share a brain and it involves many pairs of sunglasses. The general purpose of these posts is to have fun and see what we’re all carrying around with us, not to try to sell things. I say this only because what I am about to tell you may seem like some type of targeted ad but I assure you, Scout’s honor, this is exactly how it happened.
One day last week, Shannon was typing away at her laptop, making our store website amazing and she just starts laughing to herself. “Annette, come look at my bag.” So, I walk across the room, wondering what could be so interesting about her work bag as to make her burst into laughter as if she doesn’t view its contents every day. Inside I saw four sunglass cases and chuckled and said, “Well, four pairs of sunglasses seem excessive.” But wait there’s more…literally, there were more. Upon digging through Shannon’s work tote, I was able to come up with a total of eight different pairs of sunglasses. Eight. How did we get here?
Shannon likes to match her sunglasses to her outfit each day. What sunglasses person doesn’t? You might not be the same person you were yesterday and how on earth would you convey that to the world, except to put a different pair of shades on each morning...Eight pairs of sunglasses are not the issue here; it’s that the past day’s pair never made it back out of the bag, as I’m sure has happened to many of us even if the number did not total eight pairs. Fortuitously, this all happened in the month we are hosting a Krewe trunk show at The Shoe Hive; and with that, a purse spill has come full circle.
Contrary to this singular occasion when her bag was bursting with glasses, Shannon is an incredibly practical sort. Sensible, collected. It makes her a great e-commerce director and invoice-checker-extraordinaire. She likes to carry a bag that holds her laptop, looks really cool (specifically croc-embossed), and has sturdy handles. Enter stage right: The Clare V. Le Zip Sac.
In said tote, she carries several perfume rollerballs, one full-size perfume, and a hotel sample of Molten Brown hand cream, from yours truly. Many thanks to The Bryant Park Hotel for that last one; its new owner loves it. Allergy medicine is a must for all of us in Northern Virginia, Shannon included. Her compact umbrella ties her bag-of-a-pragmatist all together. Shannon knows exactly what she requires to handle a situation and those things are perfume, allergy meds, and eight pairs of sunglasses!
