The Capelet Evolution

This post will be sticking with our lounge theme - I mean, it seems to be all we talk about in this chilly pandemic season. I didn’t want to leave out what might be the most popular sweatshirt we have ever carried, the capelet by Frank & Eileen’s casual line called Tee Lab. The line really gained popularity when the hard-core shutdown occurred last spring and we held our first virtual trunk show. It was a hit, and we all learned to love the capelet. It is one size fits all and Alicia took to stories one day styling the capelet, and voila, it was like hot potatoes. (Katie used to always say that when something sold quickly!) Those capelets were flying out the door. Since then, we have carried the shirt in many colors and we currently have the black and elephant in stock. The popularity of this item was not just limited to our store; the company couldn’t keep them in stock. When I was doing our spring buy, the owner of Frank & Eileen talked about the evolution of the capelet based on her personal needs. She, of course, loved the capelet, but when the temperature was cooler, she wanted a little something around her neck, so she added a funnel neck. Then she realized she wanted something on her arms and so she added them. Then she realized she wanted arms and a little something around her neck, so she added the funnel neck to the sweatshirt as well.Later on she even turned it into a dress. If something works, it works.  Of course, there are so many great ways to wear the capelet - all the versions. We wanted to share some of our favorite looks. This week we are offering 20 percent off all Frank & Eileen and you can order the capelet and funnel capelets in their core colors.
