Veronica Beard Styled: Spring Looks from The Hive
The time has finally come for The Hive’s biggest event of the year, the Veronica Beard trunk show. Starting Thursday, we will have all of the trunk show items out on the floor and to kick it off we are hosting an event that evening with our Veronica Beard representative, Sabrina. She will be in town for a cocktail hour Thursday night and she will be in store all-day on Friday until 4 pm. Sabrina can help you with fit and special orders as well.
Veronica sent boxes and boxes of items for us to have just for the event. They are also great about ordering additional sizes and colors, too. To help show off some of the items we just received, we had to do a photo shoot. Megan, Courtney and Felicia helped us out on a cold day with some great spring looks. As you’ll see below this year it’s all about green. It was hard for me to edit the selection of green pieces in the collection, so I didn’t really. We have short and long dresses and my favorite is the pants suit, paired with a green sweater.
We have more than just green. I love how Madeline styled Courtney’s sweater with the graphic tee. I’m a fan of cardigan sweaters, but they can feel a little too preppy for me sometimes. I like contrasting something with an edge with something a little more feminine. I always say that dressing or feeling comfortable in our clothes is all about balance. You have to balance proportions, but also you have to balance fabric and style. I tend to like clothes that are tailored (blazers and pantsuits) or athletic-inspired (racing stripes and joggers). To ensure they don’t look so masculine I often balance it with a more feminine piece or accessories – just like Madeline did with Courtney and the sweater. She balanced it out to make it fit with her style and lifestyle which is: busy working mom.
