There’s Something About Cargo Pants

I have always had an aversion to cargo pants. I think it was because of a bad date in the 80s when the guy had some unfortunate baggy cargo shorts on. When he proceeded to pay…he reached for his velcro wallet. It was a tragic evening.

Needless to say, that is where my dislike of cargos began. It ended with Tibi. The Stella Nylon Cargo changed everything for me and ever since, I’ve been hooked. This season is all about cargo pants. Especially when it comes to denim. Sometimes the pockets can be a little much, but we think the versions we have in right now from Citizens of Humanity really streamline the look. Not too much pocket, because nobody wants a ton of bulk added to their thighs. I asked Annette to model some looks to show how the cargos of 2024 are superior to those of the 80s:

I always say these are a great option for people who don’t want to wear shorts in the summer as well. They are both lightweight and versatile. Stop in to The Hive and check out our newest arrivals.

Owner | The Hive and The Shoe Hive

I spent the first part of my career as a copywriter who helped elected officials brag about their support for entrepreneurs. Then I decided to get off the printed page and do it myself. The Shoe Hive made a splash on the fashion scene in Washington, and was named the region’s best shoe store in its first year. Fourteen years later, I have tripled the store’s size and also opened a sister store, The Hive.  At The Hive, we offer clothing lines that are sophisticated and approachable like Rag & Bone, Tibi, Raquel Allegra, Ulla Johnson and Veronica Beard. We have tried to fill our racks with clothing you will want to wear all the time, elevated basics that are worth the investment.
