The Perfect, Casual Shirt Dress

It seems like everyone is always looking for easy dresses, no matter what season. Something you can throw on and get out the door without much thought. The problem is, if you don’t want a sundress in the summer, there aren’t many options. I personally like sleeves, to avoid the sun and because I just feel more comfortable. The dress that I buy in bulk each season is back in stock in great new colorways, the Mary by Frank and Eileen.

It is versatile, easy to care for, easy to pack, and easy to travel in. It is just easy. I tend to wear it one day as a dress, and then for a few days, I will use it as a swim cover-up. As much as I love a boho dress on the rack when I put it on, it just usually doesn’t feel like me. But this, this feels like me.

They also have a version with a high low hem, the Hunter. So if you like it a little shorter in the front but still want coverage behind, this is a great option. Since I am tall, I stick to the Mary, but the pink striped Hunter has me thinking about it for sure.

These dresses are also the perfect option for early fall. I tend to struggle with what to wear that time of the year. It is still so hot out, but I don’t like wearing really summery things past Labor Day, but it is so hot you really need to.

Come check out our newest arrivals from Frank & Eileen.

Owner | The Hive, The Shoe Hive, and Yellow Jacket

I spent the first part of my career as a copywriter who helped elected officials brag about their support for entrepreneurs. Then I decided to get off the printed page and do it myself. The Shoe Hive made a splash on the fashion scene in Washington, and was named the region’s best shoe store in its first year. Fourteen years later, I have tripled the store’s size and also opened a sister store, The Hive.  At The Hive, we offer clothing lines that are sophisticated and approachable like Rag & Bone, Tibi, Raquel Allegra, Ulla Johnson and Veronica Beard. We have tried to fill our racks with clothing you will want to wear all the time, elevated basics that are worth the investment.
