Kicking off Spring Trunk Show Series with AGL at the Shoe Hive
We always kick off the spring with our biggest and most treasured brand. I have said it a million times, but this is the only brand we have in The Shoe Hive that we opened our doors with 20 years ago. It’s hard to believe it has been that long, and it’s hard to imagine how many different styles of Attilio Giusti Leombruni (AGL) we have ordered over the years. I would say it’s hundreds of styles and literally thousands of pairs. I shudder to think how many I have purchased myself over the years; it might be in the hundreds as well.
There is a reason this brand has lasted: they are the highest quality shoes we carry. Others compare, but nothing is similar in my opinion. I can say this because I have actually been to the factory in Italy. I have seen the shoes being made and their process is remarkable. It’s also remarkable that they still have their own factory and do not out-source production. It is located in the same coastal hills of Italy as designer brands like Prada and Tods. Basically, this is the region of Italy where people know how to make shoes, and have done it for generations.
The other reason AGL is so special is their design. They are the perfect mix of modern and classic. Yes, they are beautiful, but these are shoes you can actually wear while not having the same thing on your foot as everyone else. Their uniqueness is why they’ll become your favorites. It never fails. I can buy a bunch of shoes in any one season but the AGL pairs are the ones I wear.
AGL is also a family company. The third generation is in charge and the management team today is the three sisters. I’m all for a female-run company, especially when it is one making shoes for women. They know what we want!
