Sarah Akram Days: When Fall Fashion Meets Fall Skincare
This coming weekend, the Old Town Boutique District is hosting Alexandria Days for the second time. It is a great weekend when we all come together to host events and activities in our stores.
When I was deciding what to do, I wanted to make sure I collaborated with someone in Alexandria and really embraced the meaning of Alexandria Days, as it started in 1959.
I called my good friend Sarah Akram and asked her if she would help me out. I have been friends with Sarah for a very long time. Let’s face it, she is also what I like to call Big Time. I mean, everyone in Alexandria goes to her, or one of her team’s talented estheticians. She is also a celebrity master esthetician to people like Angela Bassett and Mindy Kaling, to name just a few, but she is also a brand ambassador for a little company called Dior Beauty.
Besides being a close friend and fellow small business owner, she has great personal style. So, at my stores, we are calling it Sarah Akram Days. First, I asked Sarah to pick out her favorite fall looks from my store and model some of them, of course. Then, all weekend, starting September 18 through September 20, you will receive a gift with purchase of my favorite items from Sarah Akram Skincare boutique.
If you opened up my bathroom cabinet, you would literally see a sampling of all these brands. I try them all but must admit, my favorite is still Environ. I can’t live without their hydrating oil capsules and all of their cleansers. I think that is what I love the best about going to Sarah: she customizes my skincare routine to what she knows I will do and keeps it simple. I am a “less is more” person, and she works around that.
