Mark Your Calendar: The Hive’s Fall Trunk Show Lineup Is Here

It’s hard to believe fall is just around the corner. Summer has flown by—as it always seems to—but this year especially. I’m dropping my daughter off at college this week, so the past few months have felt like they passed in a blink. Maybe it was the anticipation of her leaving, or just trying to stay so busy I wouldn’t end up sitting in her bed crying...but somehow, we’ve gone from spring to a packed fall schedule in what feels like no time at all.

As in recent years, we’re kicking off our trunk show season with Ulla Johnson—and this year’s show is starting even earlier. Their fall merchandise always ships at once and earlier than most, so we’re launching the show over Labor Day weekend (yes, in August!) and extending it through the following week to give everyone plenty of time to shop—even if you’re traveling.

Next up: we’re thrilled to introduce two new lines to the store—Tanya Taylor (ready-to-wear) and Monbouquette (a mother-daughter jewelry line). That event kicks off Thursday, September 18, and the Monbouquette designers, Lily and Jenny, will be in-store through Saturday. You won’t want to miss this. Each Monbouquette piece includes a unique element—think movement, hidden compartments, or mechanisms that let you transform the piece and wear it multiple ways. I’ve never seen anything like it.

The week of September 22 is what we’re calling "Jewelry Week," where we’ll spotlight several of the amazing new lines we’ve recently added to the store.

Then the first weekend of October brings a customer favorite: our Citizens of Humanity + Freda Salvador joint trunk show. These two brands complement each other so well, and of course Griffin, our fabulous rep, will be here for one of the days. The event begins October 2 and runs through the weekend.

Of course, fall wouldn’t be fall without Veronica Beard. It’s consistently one of our best-attended shows—confirmed by our recent customer survey! This season’s trunk show runs October 16–19.

And last but not least, we’ll welcome Ann Mashburn for a trunk show featuring holiday pieces (and a little fall!) from November 6–9.

We’re still finalizing December—trying not to get too ahead of ourselves—and may add a few surprises along the way.

We hope to see you at one (or more!) of the events at The Hive. It’s going to be a great fall.

Owner | The Shoe Hive/The Hive

I spent the first part of my career as a copywriter who helped elected officials brag about their support for entrepreneurs. Then I decided to get off the printed page and do it myself. The Shoe Hive made a splash on the fashion scene in Washington, and was named the region’s best shoe store in its first year. Fourteen years later, I have tripled the store’s size and also opened a sister store, The Hive.  At The Hive, we offer clothing lines that are sophisticated and approachable like Rag & Bone, Tibi, Raquel Allegra, Ulla Johnson and Veronica Beard. We have tried to fill our racks with clothing you will want to wear all the time, elevated basics that are worth the investment.
