Ulla Johnson: More Than Just Dresses

When you hear the name Ulla Johnson, you probably think of floral dresses, not accessories like bags and jewelry.

Since we began carrying the brand in 2015, Ulla Johnson has expanded far beyond ready-to-wear. First came shoes, which we couldn’t quite make work for our store, but when they launched bags and jewelry, they were an instant hit with our customers.

I’ll admit, when we first ordered the Adria Pleated Wave Pochette, I thought I’d end up buying them all myself because they wouldn’t sell. I was wrong; it sold out the first day, and we even had to place special orders for more. This spring, they introduced the Charlotte Crossbody, which also flew off the shelves. We’ve restocked both styles in fresh fabrications and added even more to our selection.

We introduced Ulla Johnson jewelry last year, and the response was just as enthusiastic. My personal favorite is the Zora Carved Shell earring. They’re not mine yet—we didn’t order many—but if they’re still here after the trunk show, I’ll be taking them home.

Stop in between Thursday, August 28, and Sunday, September 7, to explore our full collection of Ulla Johnson pieces and enjoy 20% off all items from the brand. We can’t think of a better way to kick off fall.

Owner | The Shoe Hive/The Hive

I spent the first part of my career as a copywriter who helped elected officials brag about their support for entrepreneurs. Then I decided to get off the printed page and do it myself. The Shoe Hive made a splash on the fashion scene in Washington, and was named the region’s best shoe store in its first year. Fourteen years later, I have tripled the store’s size and also opened a sister store, The Hive.  At The Hive, we offer clothing lines that are sophisticated and approachable like Rag & Bone, Tibi, Raquel Allegra, Ulla Johnson and Veronica Beard. We have tried to fill our racks with clothing you will want to wear all the time, elevated basics that are worth the investment.
