Tibi: New Arrivals and What’s Ahead for Spring

I love Tibi. It’s not a secret – there just aren’t enough good things I can say about the brand. Their weekly Style Classes on Instagram have really changed how I personally dress. In their ongoing series, the team at Tibi shows customers how to understand their own style, which makes it easier to shop. Gone are the days of buying things you think you will wear, and are certain you know how to wear. Even if you don’t wear Tibi, the classes help people understand proportion, color and how to style clothes to wear for different seasons of life. If you can find some free minutes, I encourage you to watch a few of these. I try and get my treadmill steps done while I watch.

Lately, they have even expanded their methods of communicating, the founder, Amy Smilovic’s podcast. With only a few released, the focus of these is more business, which I love. And my new favorite way to consume Tibi news — the Substack. They have The Creative Pragmatist Substack and while I’m bad at keeping up with it, I enjoy everything I read. Once again, it isn’t all about fashion. They feature food and business and it’s so well written.

Along with all the great ways to connect, they also just dropped their spring fundamentals and then the main spring delivery should arrive by the end of next week. I ordered way too many personals and could somehow get more. The fundamentals are just like they sound: the pieces in your wardrobe you instantly grab because you know they work. The fit and style are proven and that is why they introduce them in different fabrics and colorways. I love when a piece I love from the main collection makes it into the fundamentals down the road.

The main line is a little more buy now/wear now – not totally, but you can see the pieces geared toward warmer climates. Not that they can’t be layered or styled for the here and now. We also know spring weather here is not constant. One day it’s freezing and raining and the next – hot and humid.

Stop in to The Hive and see our newest arrivals, I have already been getting messages from our Tibi loyalists that can’t wait for you to check out the latest!

Owner | The Hive and The Shoe Hive

I spent the first part of my career as a copywriter who helped elected officials brag about their support for entrepreneurs. Then I decided to get off the printed page and do it myself. The Shoe Hive made a splash on the fashion scene in Washington, and was named the region’s best shoe store in its first year. Fourteen years later, I have tripled the store’s size and also opened a sister store, The Hive.  At The Hive, we offer clothing lines that are sophisticated and approachable like Rag & Bone, Tibi, Raquel Allegra, Ulla Johnson and Veronica Beard. We have tried to fill our racks with clothing you will want to wear all the time, elevated basics that are worth the investment.
