For Five Cookie Review
Have you been to For Five Coffee Roasters yet? The company's first Alexandria location is now located at 1800 Diagonal Road, across from the south side of the King Street Metro Station. Besides their speciality coffee, they offer an array of healthy menu options and tasty pastries. Take a seat at their sleek, picture-perfect coffee counter and order one of their Insta-worthy Acai bowls. For Five was founded in 2010 by two best friends from Queens who wanted to introduce specialty coffee by New Yorkers for the world. Stefanos Vouvoudakis and Tom Tsiplakos, the founders of For Five, met in third grade in their Queens classroom and have been working together ever since. Now they have expanded to 13 locations across New York City, Los Angeles, Boston, Washington D.C., Virginia, and Chicago and have four more slated to open in 2020. Alexandria offers everything on their wildly popular food program designed by executive chef Scheyla Acosta, featuring gluten free, dairy free, and vegan options throughout their breakfast, lunch and dinner menus. One menu item that’s climbing the charts in the social media world? Their famous, colorfully stuffed cookies are gaining some serious clout on Instagram. Take one look at these pretty pastries and you’ll see why. We just had to try them for ourselves to see if the flavor lived up to the photo. Here’s what we thought:
Rainbow Cookie:
They say there’s a pot of gold at every rainbow, but you won’t need to go searching for that once you realize this treat is stuffed with a gooey chocolate chip cookie dough filling. This pastry also isn’t overly sweet, so there’s always room for seconds!
Birthday Cake Cookie:
These are funfetti cookies filled with vanilla icing, AKA a birthday cake lover’s dream. They also don’t skimp on the frosting, which we love. We seriously thought it was cream cheese at first because there was so much inside.
Chocolate Chunk Cookie:
This takes the traditional classic to the next level. Why? Because it’s a chocolate chip cookie… stuffed with another gooey chocolate chip cookie. We really don’t think you can have too much of a good thing. We could honestly live off of these. For Five’s Alexandria location is open: 7am - 7pm, Monday through Friday and 7am - 4pm on weekends.
