Monday Musings

Our shop owners turned Halloween “boo’s” into holiday glamour quite literally overnight. A huge shout out to the teams that make this holiday magic happen! 👏🏼 Now is the time to start strolling down the brick paths to see Hallmark moments come to life in our little town. (If you need a little motivation to get out the door, make sure to get your tickets for the Old Town Cookie Crawl! They sell fast.) Or, maybe all of this holiday talk is too much, too fast. We’ve got you covered! This week, stay tuned for style features that will help you get dressed, or for an opportunity to join a wellness webinar to master sleep. Whatever it is that catches your fancy, take a moment and indulge.

Elizabeth: Remember shrugs? I remember when Hysteria was open and they couldn’t keep them in stock when they carried them! They were the moment. And now, this moment is back! Tibi created the cutest green shrug that I couldn’t resist. If the shrug isn’t your thing, we have Tibi’s pullover sweater in green as well. It’s such a great shade that adds a pop to anyone’s winter wardrobe.

Celthia: With the colder weather here to stay, it is safe to say we will all be enjoying more nights-in. What makes a night-in better than the scent of a rich, elevated candle filling your room? Now at Bellacara, Apotheke Candles are changing the home fragrance game. From a warm, woodsy, jasmine scent (Amber Woods Candle), to a more robust, smokey, cedarwood (Charcoal Candle), you are destined to fall in love with these new scents! (Available at Bellacara, $42)

Adrien: What is perimenopause? Let’s get biological. Perimenopause is the transition to the phase of life where reproduction ends. It normally occurs in our forties and the symptoms are varied in scope and intensity, and vary for each individual. All of these changes stem from the most significant change in our bodies during this transition– fluctuating hormone levels, namely estrogen. Estrogen is vital for overall health and wellness, and is an essential part of who we are as women. Remove it, and our body falls out of balance, resulting in a cocktail of symptoms that might make you feel strange in your body. This perimenopausal transition comes with its share of aches, pains, and

truths, yet it can bring wisdom, perspective, and a host of benefits I can attest to myself. So, take this time to focus on what is most important – your perimenopausal journey and the beauty you can create from this new adventure in life. What better way to prepare for this new adventure than by actually achieving restful sleep? Join me on November 11 and November 15 for a live Mastering Sleep Webinar. I’ll share my PROVEN,  small-yet-impactful sleep habit changes to help Alexandria Stylebook readers MASTER their sleep and feel better in their bodies during menopause.

Amy: This year’s Diamine Inkvent Calendar has arrived! It’s an Advent calendar with 25 holiday-themed inks. Behind each little door, you’ll find a bottle of never-before-seen colors of Diamine ink. Be your own Santa this year and feel free to pop those inks out immediately. We’re not here to judge! (Penny Post, $118)

Britt: Now that I’m back after my maternity leave, I’m happy to return just in time to soak in all the holiday fun– and to now share that fun with baby Georgie. The holidays are one of the best seasons to spend in Alexandria. The season for enjoying pumpkin spice and peppermint lattes, for reflecting on the successes and joys of the year, and of course, for shopping. (I see The Hive and Monday’s Child shopping trips in our future!)
