Allude’s Spring Arrivals at The Hive
During the Walkable Warehouse Sale, I saw a woman who has shopped with us for decades looking through the sale section. She then spotted an Allude sweater and pulled it on over her shirt. Minutes later, she purchased it. I teased her as she walked to the cash wrap, asking how she could buy one of the few things not on sale. She replied, “Well it’s Allude, I know it will be gone.” This is true – Allude tends to fly off the shelves.
When we go to purchase Allude for a season, this is how it works. There are racks and racks of styles. Some are all cashmere, some are blends and now they have t-shirts, too. They literally come in every shape and style. It’s very difficult to edit this collection down. Typically we go for some basics that we know clients are always looking for, and then we try to bring in new styles that kind of pull at your heart strings – and you just have to have them. This is where I get into trouble with personal orders. Next we pick the colors. They share a book with dozens and dozens of colors, and a lot of options.
Despite how stressed we get when ordering, wondering if we’ve picked the right items, it’s what makes Allude so wonderful. The brand is one that you can’t find everywhere. And even if it were in big box stores, rarely is the same item carried. The sweaters are custom-made for us; we get an edited selection exclusively for The Hive and our customers.
Last week we unpacked our spring shipment that arrived early, which we were thrilled about. It is full of fun colors and great layering pieces. As you can see, we really went big on the RD ribbed sweater in long-sleeve, short-sleeve and sleeveless. It’s a classic. It’s the sweater you grab when you need to tuck something in, or if you’re wearing a blazer and want to make sure if you take off the blazer, you still look put together.
