What We’re Loving: Books, Podcasts, Binge-Worthy Shows

This month we’re sharing what we’re loving in entertainment. From books to podcasts to shows we’ve binged in a single weekend and more. Our contributors highlighted some of their faves and maybe you'll add a few more to your list! Check ‘em out:

Lauren, XML Financial Group: These aren’t new, but my favorite shows to recommend are Shrinking, Nobody Wants This, and The Perfect Couple. I’m also a sucker for mini-series – especially if based on a true story. Here are some of my favorites you may have missed: Dope Sick, Madoff: The Monster of Wall Street, Unbelievable, and The Dropout.  If you’re looking for a great podcast, Up and Vanished Season 1 is my favorite of all time.

Rainbow, Alexandria Stylebook: I think Lauren is my show/podcast twin, I mirror her picks. I also happen to be a true crime junkie and fancy myself an internet sleuth (a very amateur one). My latest binge was Tell Me Lies on Hulu; I just finished the second season. And I was not surprised to find out leads Grace Van Patten and Jackson White (Katy Sagal’s son in real life, whole other rabbithole there) are dating in real life.

Taylor, The Patterson Group: As for books, I read Onyx Storm in two days and I loved it (I cannot wait for book 4!). I’m currently reading Crowns of Nyaxia (6 book romantasy saga with vampires). My podcast picks are Giggly Squad with Hannah Berner & Paige Desorbo (for Bravo fans/comedy) and Girls Gotta Eat (The Snack Episodes that recap pop culture news).

TV Shows: Traitors US , Love Island All Stars  and The Bachelor (Grant's Season), The Kardashians and Summer House.

Celthia, Bellacara: Dubai Bling Season 3 released just in time for us to binge watch it before our annual family reunion in Dubai. We made it a point to visit one of the shops featured in the show, "Bestie's Cafe" owned by two of the stars.

Adrien, Adrien Cotton Wellness: Carrie Soto is Back by Taylor Jenkins Read, The New York Times bestselling author of Malibu Rising, Daisy Jones & The Six, and The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo. It’s so good. And I’m back into one of my old favorites this winter – Stevie Wonder on Spotify.

Katelin, Family First Law: I love Carl Hiaasen and Bad Monkey has made me go back and read Native Tongue which I hadn't read!

Amanda, Patina: I highly recommend watching Martha, the documentary on Netflix. “Told in her own words, this candid documentary charts the unstoppable rise, sudden fall and hard-won comeback of lifestyle icon Martha Stewart.”

Kim, Patina: I have plans to read Tartufo. Here’s a synopsis, “populated by a wonderful cast of characters who live in the bypassed, dying Tuscan village of Lazzarina Boscarino 'Tartufo' follows their adventures in the wake of the discovery by the local truffle hunter, Giovanni.

The New York Times bestseller, GMA Book Club and NPR Book of the Year, Frozen River is also on my list. “It’s a gripping historical mystery inspired by the life and diary of Martha Ballard, a renowned 18th-century midwife who defied the legal system and wrote herself into American history.”

Renee, Renée C. Gage Photography: Demon Copperhead by Barbara Kingsolver is a must read…the journey this young man lived, the fierce drive to find a way to survive and the heart that wanted to be loved.  I went to bed every night grateful for the life I have the gift of living and thinking what can I do to make a difference..I hope each of my boys reads this book someday.

Gabby, Coastal Collaborative Group: For TV shows, it’s The Equalizer, Shrinking, High Potential, A Discovery of Witches, Tracker and Fire Country. Sometimes rewatching your favorites can be nice, too: Ted Lasso, New Girl, Hart of Dixie, and Wednesday for me! This brings nostalgia and comfort, and knowing the plot and the outcome of the story lets you relax and enjoy the journey without the stress of figuring out what's going to happen next.

As for books, I have been deep into the Throne of Glass series. I am tandem reading Empire of Storm and Tower of Dawn now. There’s an online guide on how to do that.
