Now that everyone is settling back into their regular routines, it's a great time to reflect on our experiences. I’m not necessarily suggesting that we sit down and judge the family and friends we spent time with over the holidays, or overanalyze everything we said or did. I’m inviting you to take a compassionate pause.

Sometimes I struggle when I have to tuck a shirt in, it can add bulk and I wish I had something that just hit my natural waist line. The Next Ex was perfect. I didn’t feel self-conscious at all, which I normally would. My love for it was confirmed when I went into the store one day and Angelica was wearing the same shirt!

Kait likes coffee, but she’s never been a fan of tea. The irony is that her photo shoot is at Lady Camellia, a tea house, and Kait very much looks like she belongs. Renée and I are also salivating, because Debbie, the owner, has brought out a stunning display of pastries and sandwiches – and tea for us to try – and it’s sitting in front of Kait!

I don’t know about you, but I’m having a really hard time getting dressed this month. I texted Ali of ALH Style and asked her to help get myself and other Stylebook readers motivated. 2025 is off and running which means Lunar New Year, one of the world’s most important cultural holidays, is right around the corner. It’s a time for family gatherings, feasting, and celebrating the new year according to the lunisolar calendar and 2025 is the Year of the Snake.

I so vividly remember meeting each of my boys. My eyes tear up a little every time…they are these little miracles that will grow into themselves and they are given to us to simply love. It’s not always complicated, it’s quite simple actually: share love and it will bring light to your life.

2024 was the year of events for us here at Helen Olivia. We closed out 2024 with hundreds- actually closer to a thousand- events under our belt for the year. Some small and intimate, and others large and extravagant. Looking back on the 2024 season, we thought we’d share some of our most memorable. 

Get a piece of paper, draw a line down the middle, and write “More” in one column and “Less” in the other one. Then visualize the last year, or the last many years, and ask yourself what do you want more of in 2025. Is it more time with family, more time for yourself, more long walks, more curiosity, or maybe more connection?
