A Logo Love Affair, Renewed

My love affair with logos began in the 80s. It started with United Colors of Benetton. I would already have the sweater picked out before I had the babysitting money in my acid washed jeans pocket. I had a collection of over-sized, chunky-knitted Benetton sweaters with color block stripes across the front and the Benetton logo reversed out in white. These sweaters were always worn with leggings, white scrunchy socks, and Reebok high tops...obvs. Sometimes a Benetton sweater could be swapped out for an Esprit version. These outfits were all brought together by an asymmetrical haircut, blue eyeliner, and Revlon Silver City Pink lipstick. I was taking the 80s by storm. In the 90s, logos and I took a break. I opted for over-sized J.Crew roll neck sweaters and denim shirts. I actually didn’t get back into logos until recently. I never had a logo'd Gucci or Louis Vuitton purse. I’m not sure why; I just never have. The past few years, however, logos have been back on my radar. I still regret a few Christmases ago not purchasing a pair of Gucci logo mules with birds painted on them. They didn’t have my size and I already knew I had to have the gold chunky loafer so I decided to show restraint and not have them order them for me. This was a mistake. Brad had a mini heart attack when he got the credit card bill anyway so I should have just gone for it. Lesson learned. I have been pining for a pair of Gucci logo slides ever since.Last fall, we got one Isabel Marant sweatshirt and one logo t-shirt and they flew off our shelves. So when I went back to market and saw the Fall 2018 collections I was jumping for joy with all the logo options the showrooms had. The trend had only continued to grow and I could not wait to get as many options as possible on the racks at The Hive. The sneaker trend has helped all of us explore mixing more casual pieces with what used to be considered “dressier” items, like a silver pleated skirt or leopard print anything. So come see our latest arrivals of Isabel logos options; there is bound to be one you like.
